Travelling in Vietnam

My wife just came back from a three week tour, about two weeks of which was in Vietnam. As she states it, the infrastructure isn’t too strong, and Hanoi rolls up the streets at night. There’s still a lot of action in the south (Saigon) however. If you’re planning on going on an accompanied tour, you probably won’t have much problem, but if you’re doing it on your own, you will probably have to deal mostly with the locals in country. Incidentally, she says the Vietnamese are very friendly to Americans. Succinctly, she enjoyed it, but still prefers China. Happy Trails – Mike>

Hi everybody, I’m not quite sure whether I am off topic or not, but I couldn’t find another newsgroup to post this. I’d like to travel to Vietnam this year, sometime from August to September. The question is, is there anybody out there who has experience in travelling in Vietnam or maybe knows someone who has. Many thanks in advance, Thorsten
