Even if it does get stained, don’t worry about it. Clean it as best you can and don’t give it another thought. As I have stated before, very few gowns get reused, even by future children or grandchildren. If you unpack the dress in 20 years and it’s all stained, you’ll just have something more by which you’ll remember the day! Have a great time! koa Madison, AL

Hi all, you may remember that I posted some time back about the Greek tradition of pouring red wine over the bride that my fiance had warned me of ? Well, with only about three weeks to go I can now say that that particular problem doesn’t make me nervous any more – but the general feeling of it all getting SO close makes me nervous to say the least ! In just two weeks I’m leaving for Greece ! In the meantime I was given a video tape from another wedding down there, it was from the wedding of a cousin of my fiance a couple of years back. Weddings down there look absolutely fantastic ! I’ve never seen a wedding with so much dancing and partying. Many of the dances were of the local traditional type and that really makes me nervous now – I’ve been trying to find some books on it but haven’t found any good ones. My fiance has warned me that we will have to WALK to the church, as the church is up on a hill but now when I’ve seen the place on pictures I get worried – it’s a REALLY steep stairway up to the church, seemingly very uneven – how can I make that with my high heels ??? And if I take them off I’ll step on my gown ! Some of their traditions are just wild – like that they break a lot of the china towards the end of the party – that’s somehow just part of the party ! As for showering the bride in red wine – it’s no joke – they really do it ! In her gown and all ! But the whole wedding looks like so much fun that that part doesn’t worry me any more – in spite of that I was stupid enough to spend $ 3,000 on my dress (not knowing the above at the time !). I hope it won’t be stained too badly… Well, anyhow, thanks all of you who responsed to my posting earlier and gave various ideas of what I could do. And I’ll try to get back with a summary of how it all went some time later on. Helen (& Georgios, June 27)
