pre-rig

Categories: China

Question:

I picked up a slew of packages of pre-rigged worms on deep discount at Walmart. There is an advantage to these rigs as a matter of convenience. There is a leader, weight, worm hook etc. The worm can be replaced on the rig. For new anglers it also affords a view of this type of rig. It would be be good if other rigging options were sold in such a manner.

Response:

I can’t believe YOU fell for the oldest trick in the retail fishing world! Why do you think they are selling them at bargain prices? I’m sure you didn’t hear of the factory burning down. I’m telling you the weights are defective, there was an accident at the weight plant over in China and the weights are very brittle and soft.  If you’re not sure or don’t trust me you can check them yourself, here’s how.  Take a handful of weights and one at a time stick one in your mouth and try to scrape/bite using the teeth in the back of your mouth, if a piece falls of or if you are easily able to chew it, it’s a defective one.  You need to lubricate them and nibble them, hence stick it in your mouth and chew.  Be careful next time you see a "bargain" Your Pal, Mike – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – > Organization: AOL Canada http://www.aol.ca > Newsgroups: rec.outdoors.fishing.bass > I picked up a slew of packages of pre-rigged worms on deep discount at > Walmart. > There is an advantage to these rigs as a matter of convenience.
