Opinion on Target Registering
Question:
Someone had earlier asked if it was a good idea to regiester at Target. I think or mother thought that it was tacky to register at a store like Target, instead of the expensive department stores. I’m not sure, but I think people were worried that if they didn’t have the china, crystal, etc. that the marriage would be seen as not being strong. I may be off in what I got from that message, but this is what I understood. I plan on registering at Target because they have nice housewares that are practical, needed, and not overpriced. I always shop at Target, so if people are willing to buy me stuff at Target that I want, I say go for it. They have nice plates, silverware, glasses, pots and pans, etc. that I’ll need for my house. I can’t see registering for china/crystal that I probably won’t get a whole set of (and then I’ll have to buy the rest), and even then, I would use the china only about once a year. I’d rather get gifts that I could use everyday in my house. In fact, my Mom had called me yesterday and asked where I was registering. It seems that my grandma had looked at a local expensive department store (where she usually shops) and was complaining that she couldn’t find my registry. I told my Mom that I was planning on registering at Target, and probably only Target. If my grandma complains, I may register for some unusual expensive items at her store. I hope this helps. My best friend registered at Target, and she got the neatest stuff, all of which she can use almost everyday. Cindy 9/16/95

It seems to me that the real answer is to register at two stores, the high- end and the readily affordable. I mean there are people who will want to spend money. margaret : I hope this helps.
