This is why they can’t get along with anyone in the world and never have. Of the 40 armed conflicts going right now in the world, 38 of them involve Muslims. GS

I’m not sure I’d use the word blame, but in general, unless prostitutes go round knocking on people’s doors asking if anyone fancies a quick shag, its usually the John that goes looking for it, isnt it. ( a friend of mine, who once visited Nigeria, reports that this did happen in the hotel he stayed in though!). But other than the financial aspect of affordinga drug habit, I dont see the connection between drugs/prostitutes, any more than I’d make a link between people who buy cars and auto manufacturers. Though in that case, the auto manufacturers are probably the pushers, aren’t they? <VBG>. — Tumbleweed Remove ’spam’ from email replies (but no email reply necessary to newsgroups)

Response:

problem is that the geographical location of Afghanistan means that there are only two possible cashcrops; opium and marijuana. The EU legalising marijuana would assist the farmers, that way one could crack down more heavily on the opium. As Muslims breed like rabbits and 18 children is the norm in Afghanistan, farmers need an income.

They know that, Muslims are not stupid. They just pretend to be stupid. They want war, they want war to the end. They thrive on bloodshed, bodies rotting in the sun, starving children, anarchy, rape and ignorance. Their plan is to bring the world down to their level or die trying which by the way is just what they are doing, dying trying. The world has no use for terrorism and its supporters so let them go ahead and do themselves in. The sooner we are rid of them the better.

I was being deliberately hardarsed. I was being deliberately ‘controversial’, I suppose. No, I don’t think the world is simple at all (although the person I was quoting does). > Have you tried considering the world from the point of view of someone > other that you.

[sigh] Yes. I’m hoping to spark a bit of anger out there – if you’re a Muslim and you think I’m being unfair, tell me. Give me *your* point of view. Let’s start a debate. That sort of thing. Instead, I get called a racist by someone who is clearly a racist himself and who thinks the Taliban are ‘honourable’. Eeveryone else who answers isn’t a Muslim. I know damn well that life in the ME is tough – and I know we in the west are at least partly responsible for it. But I’m also sick and tired of middle class westerners like Robert Fisk *telling* us. I know what they think; I know all about western guilt – I share it myself. I want to know what people who live in the ME or Pakistan or wherever, or who have contacts with them, think. I want to know what British Muslims think – not extremists like Abdul Aziz or Sullaya (sp?) but ordinary people. And I keep coming back to this because it is unavoidable. It’s ten years since the end of the cold war. Communism is (all but) dead; fascism is (all but) dead. The only threat the world faces now is from religious fundamentalists. Now I would include Jewish, Christian and Hindu fundamentalists in that, but this happens to be an Islamic NG, and it so happens that for different, maybe personal, reasons I have a particular interest in Islam. It also happens that the most threatening form of religious extremism is in the form of al-Qaeda and the Taliban and it’s intellectual roots, variously described as salaffiyyist or wahabist, or whatever. That is, we are faced with a situation in which a minority of Muslims around the world are being seduced by an extremist version of Islam. It isn’t to insult Islam, or Muslims, to point that out – it’s a fact. And it *could* represent an enormous threat to the entire world – I mean, presumably you don’t think I’m exaggerating that? My position on British Muslims is that I *want* them to be here. I *want* them to feel safe and secure and part of this country, equal to me and to everyone else. I appreciate what they have done already, less the tiny minority who have attempted to fight the state. I look forward to the time when Islam is so intergrated into British life that the ethnic connotation that the term ‘British Muslim’ usually has will be lost. But to get there we have to understand what is happening in that community. We can’t have ghettos. And there’s no denying that this Islamic fundamentalism is having an effect on existing Brit Muslim communities – again, it’s no insult to point this out, it’s a fact. Basically I’m trying to get to the bottom of it all; I’m trying to understand. So this time round I’m being a hardarse to provoke a response. But it didn’t work. Inshallah. :-)

Looks like the UK may be about to go that way according to a news report I read yesterday. Lets hope so. I have no objection to some dickhead ruining his life taking drugs, its when he tries to damage mine by stealing to finance his habit I get concerned. (and if drugs were free, the chances his life would be ruined would be reduced greatly, much of the ruination (not all) is to do with the poverty caused by the cost) Of course, the drug/Omar connection is a blind. If he tortured hamsters in his spare time thay would also trumpet that as a reason for gettijng him, its simply another in a list of attributes they can hold against him. IMHO the essential reasons for getting him are straightforward and twofold (1) the support for OBL, (2) teach other rulers a lesson. — Tumbleweed Remove ’spam’ from email replies (but no email reply necessary to newsgroups)

Dont blame the producers. They are filling a demand. Blame the consumers. If people didnt buy it, and other people didnt try and stop them buying it (driving the price up and making it more profitable) then there would be other more profitable crops the Afghans and Columbians would grow instead. Afghan farmers dont come and force drugs down people’s throats, people in our societies do that, to others or themsleves. — Tumbleweed Remove ’spam’ from email replies (but no email reply necessary to newsgroups)

Well Arabs and Muslims in my opinion need to try to stop Arabs and muslims from going on National TV bitching about how Whitey and America is oppressing them like on MTV, THAT SHIT IS CREATING HATRED TOWARDS THEM. It is far beyond rude and disrespectful considering what happened on Sept. 11th. Look at Afghanistan THAT IS OPPRESSION okay have a little common sense here.. If you want to be excepted then follow in the foot steps of Asians in present day US not Africans or Mexicans they are creating more racism against them but giving off the "You owe me something" propaganda. Instead Asians chose to follow the "You owe me nothing i respect your culture, Santa isn’t Asian." lol And that is the key, you have respect you get respect, you attack us 1,700,000 times a year like blacks in the US do then you get very little if no respect. That is just the way it is. Your not going to get respect by going on TV and just saying your a US citizen or something. That doesn’t really mean much when our towers are gone, some of the terrorist were legal US citizens, that doesn’t mean much. The fact that we all live in one nation will not make anyone love each other more. But if we just show ethnic as well as CULTURAL respect instead of saying that the American flag is racist (some blacks) or that Whites never established this nation (mexicans) is just extremely disrespectful. If blacks and mexicans would stop attacking White American culture they would be excepted just like most Asians have been. If you hate Asians, get out of Japan and China okay. If you hate us get out of the UK, Europe, US, Canada and Australia. If you hate Arabs stay out of the middle East.

Depending on what one finds disgusting, there are a lot of things done in the name of America that are disgusting.  (I prefer that phrasing because the government can be less than forthcoming about what it is doing.)  That will continue to happen because there is a large enough element here whose god is the American way of life and anything that will ensure that is something to be done. —–=  Posted via Newsfeeds.Com, Uncensored Usenet News  =—– http://www.newsfeeds.com – The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World!  Check out our new Unlimited Server. It’s disgusting to think that the Americans would support Omar for life just to reduce the opium from his country.  Going off topic, the solution to the heroin problem is just to give it to the addicts, thus drying up the black market.  -Tom

Well written, but the time for talking is unfortunately long past. Appealing to Muslims to oppose terrorism is like trying to get Christians to thwart Christ.  Or convincing a tiger to part company with his stripes. Where Islam goes, so does tyranny, cruelty and death, and the victims are generally those least able to defend themselves. You can take no action to defend yourself until a bloodthirsty Raghead plunges a dagger into your back, or you pre-emptively kill them all. Nothing else seems to avail.

Earlier this year, the US government paid about $170 million to the Taliban for their effort in reducing the amount of opium poppies grown in the area they controlled.  However, the Northern Alliance allowed the continued growth of opium poppies and there have been numerous reports about farmers going back to growing poppies in the former Taliban controlled areas now that the NA has "liberated" them. Not to mention the poppy crop which they used to fund their war against Afghanistan.  They were just about to lift the ban against poppy crop prior to the war.    The TALIBAN were responsible ffor promoting drug addiction throughout the world. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> They are scum. Bit by bit, day by day, the rest of the world is getting sick to death of this endless whining and complaining from a section of the Muslim community. Osama bin Laden is a mass murderer. Mullah Omar is a torturer and murderer of women. Both of them are probably paedophiles who have run a child slavery operation out of Afghanistan for the last five years to fund their murderous and insane schemes of world domination. They are scum. They are human excrement. They deserve to die like the rabid dogs they are. It’s only because of the mercy of the west and the UN that they have a chance of surviving til the end of the year, but only if they stop running away like cowards and face justice. It’s time for Muslims everywhere who have sympathy with these madmen to grow up. For those who do it’s time to stop this pathetic, babyish faith in insane demagogues like Osama and to act like mature, thinking, self-willed human beings. It’s time to act like the more ‘enlightened’ Muslims worldwide and join the rest of the world in its attempt to make *your* lives better than they are. It’s time for you stop simply expecting hand-outs from the richer parts of the world and then blaming them when your own corrupt leaders steal it all; it’s time to get rid of your self-styled religious authorities who encourage terrorists to turn your communities into hell-holes no self-respecting person would go near. It’s time to take responsibility for your own actions. Stop relying on imans and clerics and interpreters of the Koran – they know nothing that will help you in your public life. Stop relying on nationalist leaders, dictators and extremists – they will destroy every hope you have. Stop relying on the west; stop relying on the Koran; stop relying on Osama; stop relying on Allah. The future is in *your* hands. Help create democracy. If you have to fight, fight for democracy. When you have achieved democracy your community will almost overnight become an equal member of the world community; you will be taken seriously, you will get what you want. Israel will no longer be able to claim to be the only democracy in the middle east – you will prove them wrong, and by being secular, yours will prove to be a truer democracy. You will achieve a state for Palestinians. You will achieve a final end to the conflict in Kashmir. You will see peace in Afghanistan. You will see an end to Saddam and Assad and the Saud family – and therefore an end to sanctions against Iraq and US bases in Saudi Arabia. You will see Mecca, Medina – and mosques from Jerusalem to Sammarkand – in the hands of people you can trust. You won’t ever feel ‘humiliated’ again because you will be part of the democratic world. There will be no more ‘you’ and ‘us’: you will become us. You will never be accused of mistreating women, because women will have an equal say in the way in which everyone is treated. If you’re a Shia, or a Sufi (or a Christian or a Jew or a Hindu or an atheist) you will never be treated as a second-class citizen. You will never have to suffer grotesque and barbaric punishments like stoning or amputation. You will have complete free speech. And you will never have ‘infidels’ like me telling you to stop moaning, stop wallowing in self-pity and stop making impotent and pointless threats at people whose only ‘crime’ is to shift a significant part of their hard-earned taxes into aid programmes and loans for your countries. That’s all you have to do. Just drop the silly illusions about creating paradise on earth, or martyrdom, or violent jihad, or the superiority of one faith over another, or of forcing the ‘proper’ Islamic way of living onto everyone, or of Sharia law, and join the rest of the world as an equal, popular, wise and respected partner. What could be simpler? I hope that helps.
