Question:

>Thank you for your nasty flame. Tiger gonads (which is what is meant by

‘penis’) are definitely loaded with androgens, so this isn’t some kind of ruse. It is if the androgens are not absorbable orally, which none of the natural ones are. Back when tigers were everywhere in China, killing them was not a big deal (and this was never more than an Imperial medicine anyhow). It is now, of course. OTC herbals that list ‘Tiger Penis’ on the box contain (generally) dog gonads, also a fine source for androgens. A find sourse of quackery.  I suppose rhino-horn was really rhino testicles too?                                    Steve Harris, M.D.

No, I said what I meant.  I have had many post-menopausal women come to me looking for a natural substitute to estrogen therapy, because they are aware of its undesirable side-effects. I have "FOUND" this formula effective enough (at relieving symptoms like the one mentioned and the notorious hot flashes and irritability) to replace estrogen therapy in nearly 100% of the cases. I don’t recommend it because I sell it, I sell it because I recommend it.  Want to buy some, Paul?

I am SURE glad that you don’t have a problem with cynicism Paul. That is only the problem of the conventionalists here. Could it be that Duane means both he has found AND that he also sells. Should I presume that everytime that you mention that ETH cures that you are REALLY saying "come to me for therapy and I will heal you… be sure to bring your checkbook"? Funny you can be cynical and it is justified. If anyone is cynical of you it is a WHOLISTIC different story! Back when tigers were everywhere in China, killing them was not a big deal (and this was never more than an Imperial medicine anyhow). It is now, of course. OTC herbals that list ‘Tiger Penis’ on the box contain (generally) dog gonads, also a fine source for androgens. Ginseng is an absolutely wonderful herbal, no matter how tired anyone becomes with entrepreneurial hype. The original poster (I believe) correctly pointed out that the ‘aphrodisiac’ aspect of ginseng is entirely a side-benefit from the health-enhancing aspects of the herbal. In ETH terms, ginseng Replenishes Source (Yuan) Qi, which is stored in women in the Uterus, and in men in the Lower Dan Tian (or Elixir ‘Palace’–women do not have or need a Lower Dan Tian) in the front abdomen below the navel. These centers are also charged very effectively by the practice of Tai Ji Quan. A man or woman with abundant Yuan Qi is not going to have any problems with sexuality, though they may choose to economize their sexuality to maintain those high levels, which provide a kind of innate well-being very hard to recapture if it is foolishly discarded. For those who have suffered losses in that area, ginseng and other Yuan Qi Boosting herbals, and Yin Boosters (which help to ‘Freshen’ and ‘Lubricate’ the internal Organs) are profound helps from the Earth–not to be sneered at. —

I think dong quai (also tang kwei (?)) is, like yams, a source of estrogen or progestin, or related things. So it would be effective. Tastes terrible, though. E’beth

"Female hormone replacement," "testosterone," "antidepressants"–all very nice "alternatives"!  I’m surprised you threw in the weak parenthetical remark (qualified with a big "maybe" of course) about "reasonable" vitamin supplements.    Most post menopaual women will benefit from female hormone replacement (skin, sex organs, feeling of well being, even heart disease risk), so you should get that done.  After that, assuming all psychological factors are in order, you may want to see an endocrinologist and get *testosterone* levels measured. These drop somewhat after menopause in many women, and have effects on some women’s libido (libido in women is testosterone driven, in part, just as it is in men).  The replacement testosterone dose is far less than what would be given to a man, but at the same time can be quite effective for certain women.    An antidepressant called Wellbutrin has also been reported to increase libido in some women.  Small doses of caffeine also.      Of course, excersize and a good diet (and maybe even some reasonable vitamin supplements) are also cornerstones of all physical well-being, without which libido goes away.                                       Steve Harris

Mmmm, always a fine thing those aphrodisiacs.  Isn’t the tiger penis also considered by the Chinese to be good for that sort of thing? Peter.
