One-way to Aussie from KL/Singapore/Bangkok
Question:
Hi! Just had my working holiday visa for Aussie, and wonder if anyone had a good tip on which airline to use. Ala who is cheapest. Since I don’t know how long I’ll be there, I’d just like a one-way ticket, but could also buy a return and change the date I guess. Will travel around, and maybe enp up in the same place I got in? All info appreciated

A while back I was looking for a one-way flight the other way – SYD-SIN. Gulf Air was far cheaper than most – around AUD600 as opposed to AUD1000+ for most other airlines. Can’t say what they’re like to fly with though, when we went to fly the plane was broken, so we camped overnight in Sydney (they were trying to fix the plane right up until the airport closed) before Gulf Air transferred its SIN passangers to Singapore Airlines. Which country are you currently in? The title is headed …’from KL/Sing/Bangkok so I’m not sure if you’re already travelling around South East Asia or perhaps you are in the UK and hoping to have a stopover in one of the above cities? If you are in the UK you might like to check the website of this consolidator based in London….this travel agency specialises in travel to the Far East and Australasia on Asian airlines (Singapore/Malaysian/Cathay/Thai/Emirates/Korean) etc and has the latest ’special’ prices listed for return journeys and one-way travel. You might want to check before buying an air ticket that when you arrive in Oz the Immigration Officer will expect (or not) that you have a return portion on your flight ticket…if you are on a working holiday visa they might not like the idea of you being on a one-way ticket only unlike a new immigrant or permanent resident (and return tickets are often similar in price to a return ticket anyway): http://www.leestravel.co.uk — Posted via http://britishexpats.com

Yeah, I’m in KL at the moment. Went to a travel agent today, and they said a could get a return ticket to Perth for 2040 RM. Also think thet Quantas had a better offer on the same deal, but think there were some limitations on how long I could stay in Aussie… I think the immigration copuld be OK as long as you have sufficient funds of staying in Aussie for a while, but not totally sure. Have to check it out… Would have been easier to buy an around-the world-ticket, but too late for that now… Thanks for all help!
